Lady Gaga
Born as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady Gaga is known for her quirky outfits and jaw-dropping performances. At an early age, Lady Gaga already exhibited musical abilities, having been able to play the piano at four years old. At the tender age of 19, she signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. However, she was dropped by the label only after three months. She then collaborated with several artists, songwriters, and song producers such as RedOne and Rob Fusari. Her hit singles such as "Poker Face" and "Just Dance" received critical reception and by 2008, she was already working on her debut album "The Fame." Because of her outrageous outfits and eccentric performances, Lady Gaga became an icon of the electro-pop and dance genre. She has also received several Grammy awards and nominations, and was recognized worldwide not only as a performer, but also an advocate of gay rights. As of 2010, Lady Gaga has sold over 15 million albums worldwide. She's also included in Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women in 2010.
