Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez started her acting stint when she was just 7 years old, portraying the role of Gianna at the kids' show Barney & Friends. As she watched her mom prepare for stage acting roles, Gomez developed an early interest in acting. After her Barney & Friends stint, she landed small movie roles. Her big break was in 2004, when she was discovered by Disney Channel. Three years later, she was cast as Alex Russo in the Disney TV series Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2008, she appeared in the direct-to-dvd movie Another Cinderella Story. Gomez also starred in the 2010 film Ramona and Beezus, which was based on a book by Beverly Cleary. As a music artist, Gomez has released several singles, and she is currently a member of the band Selena & The Scene. Aside from being a successful actress and singer, Gomez is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and a part of Disney's Friends for Change.
